Natural Resource Endowments and Foreign Direct Investment Flows in Sub-Saharan African Countries

The objective of this paper is to analyze the effects natural resource endowment on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows in Sub-Saharan African countries. data cover period 1996-2019 and are extracted from UNCTAD World Bank databases (WDI, 2019; WGI, 2019). A dynamic model with individual estimated four partially homogeneous panels using one-step generalized method moments. results obtained show that 1) forest resources have a beneficial but negligible effect FDI Africa; 2) oil mining significant adverse Central Africa West Africa, respectively; 3) resources, contrast, positive Southern East respectively. Regarding development forestry industry strengthening political stability control corruption main economic policy implications.
